Teacher Gifts

This year's teacher gifts were simple. We mixed "equal" parts applesauce and ground cinnamon into a dough then rolled it out to about 1/4 or more inch thick. (The recipe called for equal parts, but I had to improvise.) I found a template of a primitive looking star on-line, printed it out, traced it onto cardboard then cut it out for our pattern. We cut out the stars then used a straw to poke a hole for the hangers. We left them to dry on cooling racks for several days. When they were ready, we tied raffia through the holes and voila - an inexpensive, but thoughtful way to say Merry Christmas. The ornaments smelled WONDERFUL and we had a great time making them.
