Ike's Wrath

Sunday, Ike stormed through our area. Yes, Hurricane Ike. In Ohio. Well, at least the remnants of it. I can't say that I've ever seen winds quite like that before. Gusts were reported in excess of 60 MPH. Trees were ripped up by the roots and power is out everywhere. Schools are closed due downed trees over roads and power outages everywhere. (Of course, Wooster City Schools aren't closed - the boys couldn't be so lucky.)

Our power has been out since Sunday evening about 7:00 PM. We are told it could be Sunday or possibly Monday before power is restored.

**SAY WHAT?!**

Apparently the power company has sent so many helpers to Texas that they're unable to deal with what has happened at home in a timely fashion. (Understandable)

Praise the Lord it's not the middle of winter so we don't have cold weather to contend with. We have hot running water. Our next door neighbors have generously allowed us to plug into their generator to run our fridge - so we haven't lost any food!! We can cook on the stove with gas power. Plenty of candles and flashlights light the way in the evening and at night. We're not so bad off.

I'm looking at this a sort of an adventure. It's certainly something out of the norm. The boys aren't complaining yet.

The thing I miss the most so far - my hairdryer.
